Here at Modbury Primary School every child truly matters, and every child is valued equally. We believe that all children should feel confident in themselves as individuals, with an awareness of what they can do in any area and a positive approach to all areas of life and learning. Learning to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to any situation, learning to be flexible and adaptable, is learning for living.

Whilst we take pride in our academic standards and achievements, we also believe that helping and respecting each other, co-operating and sharing, and encouraging a sense of community are essential elements of a child’s education. Here at Modbury we enable children to develop safe and healthy lifestyles, commitment and a sense of responsibility, and knowledge and understanding that will enable them to succeed in life. Our aim is to send young people out into the wider world who are sensible, caring, competent and worthy of respect.

We all need a supportive culture where we can take risks with learning and living, knowing that at all times there will be acceptance and guidance. This is what we strive to provide at all times for each and every child within our school.
